Potential Energy

Here is an annual report I designed for the non-profit PotentialEnergy.org.

Many families across Sub-Saharan Africa collect wood for use in their cooking fires. This process can take a great deal of time. Up to seven hours per day, or up to 30% of a family’s income, can be spent on collecting firewood. This perpetuates the cycle of poverty. Designed by engineers at Lawrence Berkeley National Lab, in conjunction with local women, the Berkeley-Darfur stove is a high efficiency wood-burning cookstove, it is adapted to local pots, customs and cooking practices. And it is impacting the lives of ¼ million people.
